Ten Levels of National Qualifications Framework

The NQF is a sort of library where NZQA stores all of the completed unit and achievement standards and from where interested parties can withdraw them. NZQA files the unit standards at certain levels starting from simple skills at level 1 to the most difficult skills (degree level) at level 10. The 10 levels of unit and achievement standards placed on the framework are:

10 - Doctorate
9 - Masters Degree
8 - Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates & Bachelors Degrees with Honours
7 - Bachelors Degree & Graduate Diplomas and Certificates
6 - Diplomas
5 - Diplomas
4 - Certificates
3 - Certificates
2 - Certificates
1 - Certificates

When designing assessments it is important to ensure the level of difficulty is appropriate to the level of the standard.
